North Shore ITAD operates a secure electronics processing workflow in Silver Bay, Minnesota — serialized intake, testing, data wiping, refurbishment, and responsible recycling for regional businesses and organizations.

The opportunity

We are hiring a part-time Junior Electronics Technician to support asset intake, testing, and inventory organization. This is a hands-on role well suited to high school or college students interested in computers, gaming PCs, electronics repair, or IT careers. No prior ITAD experience required — we train on our procedures.

Ideal candidate

  • Interest in computers, electronics, or IT (personal projects, gaming builds, school tech programs, etc.)
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable following documented procedures
  • Able to lift and move computers, monitors, and related equipment (typically up to 50 lbs with team assistance)
  • At least 16 years of age (see work-permit requirements below if under 18)
  • Reliable transportation to Silver Bay for scheduled shifts

Responsibilities

  • Receive and log incoming equipment with serial numbers and asset tags
  • Run basic diagnostics and document device condition
  • Assist with NIST-aligned data wiping under supervision
  • Package, label, and organize inventory for refurbishment or recycling paths
  • Maintain a clean, organized intake and staging area

Compensation

Hourly, non-exempt part-time employment. Starting rate depends on experience, technical aptitude, and schedule reliability. This range exceeds the applicable Minnesota minimum wage at time of hire.
