North Shore ITAD helps businesses, schools, healthcare organizations, and nonprofits securely dispose of, refurbish, and redeploy technology across Northern Minnesota. We provide documented chain-of-custody, NIST-aligned data destruction, electronics reuse, certificates of destruction, and environmental reporting.
The opportunity
We are hiring an Intake Sales Specialist to build pipeline and close secure IT asset disposition (ITAD) pickups. This is a hunter role with regular field work: you will travel to assigned areas and visit client offices and businesses for discovery, relationship-building, and onsite asset assessments — alongside outbound cold calling, email outreach, and follow-up on website inquiries, contact forms, and partner referrals. Training on our intake process, compliance talking points, and CRM is provided. Prior ITAD experience is helpful but not required.
What you will sell (ITAD intake services)
- Secure pickup and serialized intake of retired desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and office electronics
- NIST SP 800-88-aligned data wiping and certificates of destruction for data-bearing devices
- Refurbishment, reuse, and responsible recycling paths with documented chain-of-custody
- Recurring refresh support for schools (FERPA-aware handling), healthcare (HIPAA-aware handling), and business IT cycles
How pipeline is built
- Field visits to assigned territory accounts — schools, clinics, SMBs, nonprofits, and municipalities in Duluth, the North Shore, and Iron Range
- Onsite meetings at client offices and businesses for discovery, walk-throughs, and asset counts where appropriate
- Outbound cold calling and targeted email to decision-makers and IT contacts in our service territory
- Follow-up on inbound website forms, marketing responses, MSP/referral introductions, and customer referrals
- Account research: asset counts, refresh timing, compliance documentation needs, and pickup logistics
- No residential door-to-door solicitation — B2B field visits and professional outreach to organizations only
Ideal candidate
- Willing and able to work in the field — travel to assigned areas and meet clients at their offices and business locations
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for territory travel across Northern Minnesota
- Comfortable with cold calling owners, office managers, district IT staff, and clinic administrators
- Persistent, organized follow-up — CRM hygiene and clear next steps on every prospect
- Can learn and explain data-security and compliance basics (certificates, chain-of-custody, wipe standards)
- Coachable, professional, and motivated by commission performance
- Interest in B2B services sales; early-career or career-change candidates welcome with strong work ethic
Responsibilities
- Travel to assigned territory areas and conduct in-person visits at client offices, schools, clinics, and business locations
- Conduct outbound cold calls and email campaigns to qualified organizations along Duluth, North Shore, and Iron Range routes
- Respond to and qualify inbound website inquiries, contact forms, and referral partner introductions
- Perform onsite discovery where needed: asset volume, data-bearing devices, timeline, site access, loading constraints, and compliance documentation requirements
- Explain the ITAD intake flow — quote, scheduled pickup, serialized receiving, sanitization, and certificate delivery
- Move opportunities through CRM stages to scheduled pickup and closed ITAD service revenue
- Coordinate handoff to operations for quote details, pickup scheduling, and manifest expectations
Compensation
Commission-only compensation based on a percentage of ITAD service revenue from deals you close. No base salary, hourly wage, draw, or guaranteed minimum earnings. Residual opportunities may apply to qualifying recurring pickup accounts per a written commission plan provided before you begin work.
